Senior games, 1500 Race Walk Champion in 8:37 (cannot remember the exact year but I was in my 60s). This was a state record for many years.

Won the 1500 m run at Idaho Senior Games (year unknown)

Won the 100 and 200 m races at the Senior Games in West Virginia (year unknown)

A 5k and 1500 race walking champion for several years (don't have exact dates).


Born in Nitro W. Va.(Blakes Creek Hollow, W. VA), PHD in economics from Duke, taught at Northwest and elsewhere and at the University of Washington from 1976 until 2014.

Published or edited approximately 35 books and 150 articles. Founded the Society for Benefit Cost Analysis (meets in D, C) and the Society for Semi-Learned Men ( meets at my house).
