About

I have lived in Zimbabwe, England, South Africa and since 1987 the USA. I ran track in High School and have been active with hiking and mountaineering, martial arts, and the odd triathlon and cycle race. The feeling of running fast in my youth drew me to Track again at age 47; at my first meet in West Seattle, I fell in love with both the people and the sport of Masters Track & Field. A year later I competed in my first ever Masters National meet and met my goal of competing in the finals. At 49, I competed in my first ever Decathlon (this had been a childhood dream, despite being a female); I was proud to set the US Record for W45 decathlon. The following year at my first ever World meet at Kamloops, Canada, I won gold in the Pentathlon and Pole Vault. After working around a variety of injuries and personal losses, I enlisted the help of my Coach Steve Kemp. He guided me to a break out year in 2015: three National Titles (100, 200, 400) and the World Title (400m) in Lyon, France. I also anchored the memorable W55 4x400m relay that broke the AR and won gold. This year I retained my 400m National Title. Future goals include breaking the AR in the 400m and improving my multi-event skills.
